

Nigeria is now a talking point in the world for the feat so accomplished by the well-cultured Chef Hilda Baci!
The latest Guinness World Record holder, Nigeria’s Chef Hilda Baci says her zeal for venturing into the exercise of attaining the world record is to tell some positive stories from Africa through the meals that we eat.
Chef Hilda surpassed the record previously held by Indian Chef Lata Tandon who held the record for 87 hours and 45 minutes since 2019.
The 27-year-old Nigerian Chef added that it is one of her biggest aspirations.
As of 11:22 am on Monday the 15th day of May, Baci had cooked for 91 hours and 21 minutes to surpass the previous record who cooked for 87 hours, 45 minutes, and 00 secs.
Baci started her four-day cooking marathon challenge on May 11 at the Amore Gardens area of Lagos where her fans and family members had gathered to cheer her up. The Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-olu was one of those who graced the cooking arena to give some moral support to the pride of the Nation, Chef Hilda.
Governor Sanwo-olu on his Facebook timeline after his visit said, “I had the privilege of visiting and tasting her amazing dishes. The flavor, passion and dedication she puts into her work are unparalleled”.
He added that Hilda has made Lagos proud and her accomplishment is a testament to the Nigerian spirit.
According to Chef Hilda, “The journey to the cook-a-thon started five years ago. It is one of my biggest aspirations and I am glad that I took the bold step to embark on this adventure. I have taken time to prepare for this psychologically and I am proud to finally take on this challenge.”


“The cook-a-thon is also an opportunity to tell some of the positive stories that come from Africa through the meals that we make.”
“This attempt is also proof of the strength young people can exhibit with the right platform and support. I look forward to receiving support from people across the world to achieve this feat,” she said.
