Nigeria’s Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed has said that Nigeria-China relationship is so mutual as both countries have many similarities in history.


This was made known at the colourful China National Day Celebration held at Oriental Hotel, Lekki, Lagos. The Friday 9th September 2022 event was a festival of dance, drums, cuisine, and the economic ties between both countries.
According to the Minister of Culture, “China National Day and Nigeria Independence Day both fall on the same day – October 1st. This is one of the many things China and Nigeria have in common”.


Represented by “his able Lieutenant Prof. Sunday Enessi Ododo, the Minister presented a Keynote Address on “Improving The Nigeria-China Economic Relationship Through Art and Culture Related Activities as Alternative to Job Creations”.
In the Keynote Address the General Manager/CEO of the National Theatre who spoke in the voice of his master commended the Chinese business community for their continued support and commitment to Nigeria in construction, investments in mineral resources and allied products.


Prof. Ododo also called on the Chinese business community to invest in the many opportunities that the value chain of the creative culture industries provides to help in boosting job creation in Nigeria.
The Chinese mid-autumn festival and National Day Celebration had in attendance Prof. Ododo, fsonta, fta, fsna, fana, fnipr, FNAL joined on the high table by Minister of State if Science, Technology and Innovation, DG of NCAC, Mrs Bola Obasanjo, Mama Nike Okundaye (Nike Gallery), Ambassador of China to Nigeria HE Mr. Cui Jian Chun among other dignitaries.
